The 40-4-10 is a Soder-Wick® Lead-Free SD desoldering braid engineered for efficient removal of high-temperature lead-free solders from printed circuit boards and electronic components. This product features a single-layer weave design with a width of 0.110 inches (2.8 mm) and blue color identification, combined with a high-temperature no-clean flux type (ROL0) that meets ANSI/IPC J STD-004 and MIL-F-14256 F specifications. The braid offers rapid wicking and heat transfer capabilities while minimizing heat damage to sensitive pads and components, with a shelf life of 2 years when stored properly. It is halide-free with no corrosive residues, RoHS compliant, and compatible with both lead-free and tin/lead solders. The product is packaged on static dissipative bobbins meeting MIL-STD-1686C and MIL-HDBK-263B standards, making it ideal for professional rework applications in thru-hole components, SMT pads, BGA pads, and micro circuits.
