The 8443-2 is a cold shrink silicone rubber connector insulator designed for insulating terminal lugs. It is suitable for an application range of 6 to 2 AWG cables and creates a tight seal on diameters as small as 0.30 inches (7.6 mm). This insulator covers a maximum barrel diameter of 0.560 inches (14.22 mm) and has an installed length of 1.4 inches (36 mm). As part of the 8440 series, it provides primary electrical insulation for splices rated up to 1000 volts and resists moisture, acids, alkalies, and UV light. Its simple, tool-free installation makes it ideal for indoor, outdoor, and overhead applications.
