The RV5/50 is a varistor surge suppressor accessory for protecting contactor coils. It is designed for a rated control circuit voltage (Uc) of 24V to 50V in both AC and DC applications. The suppressor limits residual overvoltage to a clipping voltage of 132V AC/DC and notably does not cause any increase in the contactor's opening time. With its high energy absorption and unpolarized design, it provides effective damping and is compatible with a wide range of contactors, including the AS, A, and AL series, operating in temperatures from -20°C to +70°C.
