The MCP2518FDT-H/SL is an external CAN FD controller with an SPI interface, designed to easily add a CAN FD channel to a microcontroller. It supports both CAN 2.0B and CAN FD modes, with an arbitration bit rate up to 1 Mbps and a data bit rate up to 8 Mbps. Operating on a supply voltage from 2.7V to 5.5V, this device is rated for high-temperature applications with a range of –40°C to +150°C. The controller includes 2 KB of ECC-protected RAM, 31 configurable transmit/receive FIFOs, and 32 flexible filter objects. Its low power consumption and robust features, such as SPI commands with CRC, make it suitable for safety-critical systems in automotive and industrial environments.
