SMAJ17A is a unidirectional transient voltage suppressor diode designed for surge and ESD protection in portable communications, computing, and video equipment. The device features a breakdown voltage range of 18.9 to 20.9 volts with a working peak reverse voltage of 18 volts, housed in a compact DO-214AC (SMA) surface mount package. It delivers 400 watts peak pulse power dissipation with a peak forward surge current of 40 amps (8.3 ms single half sine wave), and operates reliably across a temperature range of -55°C to +150°C. The SMAJ17A provides fast response times of less than 1.0 picoseconds and conforms to IEC 61000-4-2 ESD (Level 4), IEC 61000-4-4 EFT, and IEC 61000-4-5 Surge standards, making it ideal for protecting sensitive electronic circuits from transient overvoltage events.
