The OLS710D3LSH is an optical liquid level sensor designed for single-point liquid level detection with external 1/4" NPT thread mounting. It features an infrared emitter and detector aligned within an accurately shaped cone to provide excellent optical coupling in air, with significantly reduced coupling when immersed in liquid as the infrared light escapes through the liquid rather than reflecting back to the detector. The sensor operates over an extended temperature range of -40°C to +125°C with a supply voltage of 5 to 15 Vdc, maximum supply current of 2.5 mA at 15.4 Vdc, and delivers a low-output voltage configuration (0.5 V maximum when active). It features a transistor output that can be configured for particular applications, with output sink and source current capability of 100 mA maximum, and is resistant to false triggering caused by foaming. The sensor is housed in Polysulfone UDEL 1700 material with a maximum pressure rating of 7 bar, making it suitable for general liquid sensing applications in tanks and reservoirs where reliable optical detection and extended temperature operation are required.
