The 78HJ04GWT is a 4-position SPDT (Single Pole Double Throw) slide-operated switch from Grayhill's Series 78H, engineered for surface-mount assembly with compatibility for infrared reflow and vapor-phase soldering. The switch features reliable spring and ball contact design with a shorting member of brass gold-plated over nickel barrier, and base contacts of copper alloy similarly finished. It operates over a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C with a current carry rating of 4 amps (maximum rise of 20°C), mechanical life of 2,000 operations per switch position, and switch capacitance of 2 pF at 1 megahertz. The device exhibits excellent electrical performance with initial contact resistance of 30 milliohms maximum and insulation resistance of 2,000 megaohms minimum at 100 Vdc.
