The 1590WR1 is a water-tight diecast aluminum enclosure from Hammond's 1590 Series, engineered for rugged general-purpose and wall-mounting applications. It features lap joint construction where the lid and box meet, providing enhanced protection against dust and splashing water while improving EMI/RFI shielding. The enclosure is designed to meet IP65 rating when properly equipped with a gasket and lid screws torqued to 25-30 cN·m, and includes a pre-formed silicone gasket with adhesive backing rated for -40°C to 150°C. The diecast aluminum alloy construction is tough yet easy to machine, with a low side wall draft angle of 2° or less for convenient PC board mounting.
