The 8304-CHR-100 is a computer EIA RS-232 cable designed for extended distance communications and low-voltage signal transmission. It features 22 AWG stranded (7x30) tinned copper conductors with semi-rigid PVC insulation arranged in twisted pairs, providing excellent noise immunity and signal integrity. The cable incorporates a dual-layer outer shield consisting of Beldfoil® (100% coverage) and tinned copper braid (85% coverage), with an overall PVC jacket measuring 0.32 inches in nominal diameter and 0.045 inches wall thickness. Electrical characteristics include a nominal conductor DC resistance of 15 Ohm/1000ft, capacitance of 35 pF/ft conductor-to-conductor, and a UL voltage rating of 300 V RMS with a maximum recommended current of 2.1 Amps per conductor at 25°C. The cable operates over a temperature range of -30°C to +80°C and is suitable for RS-232 extended distance applications, computer communications, low voltage analog signals (4-20mA, 0-10V), low voltage digital control (24V), line level audio, and panel wiring.
