Bourns Gas Discharge Tubes (GDT's) are used to protect personnel and sensitive equipment from hazardous transient voltages. These GDTs prevent damage from overvoltages by acting as a “crowbar”, i.e. a short circuit. Bourns GDTs have very high surge handling capability and extremely low work function for long service life. Applications are telecommunications, industrial electronics, commercial electronics, consumer electronics and automotive, aircraft, military electronics. Operating temperature ranges from -40°C to +90°C.
