ISOM8-320-B-L2 is a hybrid protection component from Bourns that combines metal oxide varistor (MOV) and gas discharge tube (GDT) technologies to deliver superior surge protection performance. The device features an 8 kA nominal current rating with a maximum continuous operating voltage (MCOV) of 320 V RMS (415 V DC), nominal capacitance of 50 pF at 20 kHz, and operating leakage less than 10 µA at MCOV. It provides exceptional energy handling with 8,000 operations at 15 A surge current and 15,000 operations at 10 A, achieving a maximum clamping voltage of 875 V at 200 A with ring-wave surge tolerance. The component operates reliably across an extended temperature range of -40°C to +125°C and is UL recognized with RoHS compliance, making it ideal for premium AC and DC power protection applications where space savings and long-term reliability are critical.
