SMCJ15A is a unidirectional transient voltage suppressor diode designed for surge and ESD protection in portable communications, computing, and video equipment. The device features a working peak reverse voltage of 18.5 V, breakdown voltage of 16.7 V, and is housed in a compact SMC (DO-214AB) surface mount package. It delivers a peak pulse power dissipation of 1500 watts at 1 ms pulse width, with a steady-state power dissipation of 5.0 watts at 75°C junction temperature, and operates across a temperature range of -55°C to +150°C. The maximum instantaneous forward voltage is 3.5 V at 100 A peak current, and the device exhibits fast response times typical of unidirectional TVS diodes.
