The 1590Y is a rugged diecast aluminum alloy electronic instrument enclosure from Hammond Manufacturing's 1590 Series, designed for general-purpose wall-mounting and water-tight applications. It features lap joint construction that provides protection against dust and splashing water while offering improved EMI/RFI shielding. The enclosure measures 92 mm length × 92 mm width × 42 mm height and is available in natural finish with a vibra-finished smooth surface, or in textured black with polyester powder paint coating. Standard versions are designed to meet IP54 protection rating, while water-tight versions meet IP65 and include a silicone gasket with temperature rating from -40°C to 150°C. The low side wall draft angle of 2° or less facilitates easy PC board mounting, and the enclosure includes factory-tapped assembly screw holes that accept machine screws (four screws included). These enclosures are ideal for protecting electronic instruments, control systems, and sensitive equipment in industrial, commercial, and field deployment environments.
