The MCP2150-I/SO is an IrDA® standard protocol stack controller designed to add wireless connectivity to embedded systems by interfacing between a UART and an infrared transceiver. It implements key IrDA protocols such as IrLAP, IrLMP, and IrCOMM, and supports bidirectional communication at data rates up to 115.2 kbaud. The device features a 64-byte data packet size, hardware-selectable UART baud rates, and low power consumption of less than 1 mA during typical operation. Operating as a secondary device, it is ideal for point-to-point wireless data transfer in various Data Terminal Equipment (DTE) applications.
