66F080 is a subminiature bimetallic disc thermostat in an 8-pin DIP package designed for accurate and reliable temperature sensing and switching on printed circuit boards. This RoHS-compliant device features positive snap action, single pole/single throw operation with close-on-rise (fan) contact operation at an 80°C operating temperature set point with ±5°C tolerance. The thermostat offers gold-plated contacts with up to 100,000 life cycles at low-level switching (0.001 A to 0.020 A at 5 VDC) and up to 30,000 cycles at 1.0 A/120 VAC. It is sealed with high-temperature epoxy to withstand wave soldering and board washing operations. Common applications include computers, computer peripherals, aircraft, automotive, and test equipment for functions such as indicator lights, audible alarms, and system shutdown circuits.
