HCF110J680RJ is a wire-wound aluminium housed braking resistor designed for high-power overload absorption in braking applications. This HCF110 series resistor features a 680O resistance value with ±5% tolerance, a continuous power rating of 100W at 40°C, and a maximum operating temperature of 260°C. The resistor incorporates an anodized extruded aluminium profile body with IP54 ingress protection, PTFE-insulated flying leads (300mm standard, rated to 600V and 200°C), and a compact 15mm profile for space-constrained installations. Key electrical characteristics include a maximum working voltage of 1100V, insulation resistance of =1000MO at 1000VDC, dielectric strength of 3500VAC, and a temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) of ±200ppm/°C. The resistor demonstrates exceptional pulse load capability with 1600W at 1.2s pulse, 910W at 7.2s pulse, and 245W at 48s pulse (all at 40°C within a 120s duty cycle). This design makes it ideal for motor braking circuits, regenerative braking systems, and other high-power transient energy absorption applications where reliability and thermal management are critical.
