The MP7227-TC is a miniature MEMS catalytic pellistor sensor designed for low-power detection of combustible gases in hazardous areas. It operates with a DC supply of +2.9 to +3.1V and consumes 37.0 to 41.0 mA in continuous mode, with ultra-low power consumption available in pulsed operation mode, making it ideal for battery-operated devices. The sensor achieves a minimum sensitivity of 8 mV/% methane, a response time (T90) of less than 12 seconds, and is optimized for methane detection up to 5% volume in air while also detecting other flammable gases and vapours. It features excellent long-term stability with zero drift less than 1.0 mV/month and sensitivity drift less than 0.6 mV/month, and is certified for Group I mining and Group II industrial hazardous area applications. The compact size and robust poison-resistant design in a certified flameproof enclosure make it a preferred choice for safety-critical applications requiring reliable gas detection in confined or explosive environments.
